Cody Wise and I took three Veterans on a crappie fishing trip yesterday. The day was as good as it gets for a Texas summer day with overcast skies and a steady breeze across big Sam Rayburn. Everyone met up at Jackson Hill and after a short drive we arrived at our first brush pile. The fish were there but our crew had to earn their bites. Mr. Bill our 85-year-old Army Veteran and Outdoor Freedom Network volunteer helped welcome Mr. Jimmy a 75-year-old 100% Disabled Vietnam Veteran and our youngster 40-year-old Navy Veteran Chad.
